Castle Ward is a beautiful 18th-century National Trust property on the shore of Strangford Lough in Co Down . The mansion occupies an elevated sight amidst 800 acres of woods and farmland. The estate is a Game of Thrones filming location and is the scene of the first ever Waggy Races in March 2014!

CASTLE WARD was a major filming location for Game of Thrones. The 5km course starts in front of the Mansion and loops round the lawn before joining the trail towards Strangford Lough via Winterfell. The route will follow the shoreline, pass Rob Stark’s camp (Audleys Castle) the hanging tree before passing into the forested trails, skirting past the Kings Road and eventually back up the hill towards the mansion!
