THE VENUEThe National Trust Castle Ward Estate is one of NI's most beautiful locations - the mansion is set on an elevated site on the shore of Strangford Lough amidst 820 acres of woodland and farmland with stunning views across the water.
Castle Ward is also a major filming location for Game of Thrones! The 5km course will start in front of the Mansion (roughly where Zola is sitting) and loop around the lawn before joining the trail towards Strangford Lough via Winterfell. The route will follow the shoreline, pass Rob Stark’s camp and the hanging tree before passing into the forested trails, skirting past the Kings Road and eventually back up the hill towards the mansion! The scenery is outstanding throughout the entire course - get entered!
